Terms and Conditions — Yacht Charter Saint-Tropez

Last updated: October 16, 2026

These terms and conditions govern every charter booked through yachtchartersttropez.com, from a single afternoon on the water to a longer crewed charter out of Saint-Tropez. They apply to anyone who sends us an enquiry, receives a written quote and confirms a booking with us, and they sit alongside the written quote we send for each charter, which always states the final price and inclusions for that specific trip.

Please read them before confirming a booking. If anything is unclear, write to [email protected] before you pay the deposit — we would rather clarify a point in advance than leave it to chance once you are on board.

Scope and who we are

Yacht Charter Saint-Tropez operates the website yachtchartersttropez.com, through which we present a fleet of 97 yachts — superyachts, yachts, sport-yachts, day-boats and catamarans — available for crewed day charters and longer charters based in and around Saint-Tropez, with day rates from €1,700. We act as the charter organiser for the vessels listed on the site.

These terms apply to the contractual relationship between Yacht Charter Saint-Tropez and the client who books a charter, once that booking is confirmed in writing as described below. Any question about a booking, a quote or these terms can be sent to [email protected].

From enquiry to confirmed booking

Nothing is booked, and no payment is taken, by simply browsing the site. A charter begins with an enquiry: you either fill in the enquiry form — name, email, optional phone number, the yacht you are interested in if you already know, your charter start and end dates, the number of guests and a free-text message — or you contact us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp.

We reply with a written quote setting out the vessel, dates, duration, price and what is included for that specific charter. A booking only becomes binding once we have confirmed it in writing and received the deposit described below. Until that point, either side is free to walk away without obligation.

Prices and what is included

The price shown in your written quote is the price for your charter; nothing is added afterwards that was not already stated in that quote. Day rates across the fleet start from €1,700, and the final figure depends on the yacht, the duration and the season.

The quote states what is included — typically the vessel and crew for the agreed hours — and what is charged separately, such as fuel, marina fees, the advance provisioning allowance (APA) on larger yachts, catering and any other extras you request.

For groups planning a client lunch or a corporate afternoon on the water, we match the vessel size and cabin layout to the guest count before quoting a day rate, and we arrange catering through the same provisioners who supply yacht orders on Quai Jean Jaurès. Anchoring is planned as part of the brief: a 40–60 ft motor yacht positioned in the Gulf gives a private deck off the village for a presentation, while a Port Grimaud canal mooring is offered when a group prefers to stay away from the Nouveau Port's foot traffic. The same care applies whether the charter is eight executives or a family outing.

Payment and deposit

A booking is confirmed once we have sent written confirmation and received a deposit of 40% of the charter fee. The balance is due 10 days before departure.

Bookings are not paid online through the website; payment is arranged directly with us once your quote and dates are agreed, and instructions are given in writing at that stage.

Cancellation and changes by the client

Because a charter is a leisure service booked for a specific date, the 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to most distance contracts does not apply here. This follows from Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU and, in France, from Article L221-28 of the Consumer Code, both of which exclude services relating to leisure activities to be performed on a specific date from the standard withdrawal right. In place of that right, we apply the voluntary cancellation policy set out below, which gives you a clear and fair outcome whenever plans change.

Cancellation must be sent in writing by email to [email protected]; the date we receive that email is the date that counts for calculating the notice period.

  • More than 21 days before departure: the deposit is refunded in full.
  • Between 10 and 21 days before departure: the deposit is retained.
  • Less than 10 days before departure: the full charter fee is due.

Changes to dates, guest numbers or the chosen yacht are handled the same way: tell us in writing as early as possible, and we will try to accommodate the change, but a late change that amounts to a cancellation of the original date is treated under the tiers above.

Cancellation or changes by us

If the captain or the relevant port authority considers conditions unsafe — whether because of weather, sea state or a technical issue with the vessel — the charter does not go ahead as planned. In that case you choose between a free new date and a full refund. The captain's safety decision is final and is not open to negotiation from shore or from the client's side.

If a charter cannot proceed for a reason beyond our reasonable control — including force majeure — we will contact you as soon as we know, and offer the same choice of a new date or a full refund for the affected charter.

Guest capacity and safety rules

The number of guests on board may never exceed the licensed capacity of the vessel stated in your booking confirmation. This limit exists for safety reasons and cannot be increased on the day, regardless of how the group is split between arrivals.

The crew may refuse boarding to any guest whose condition or behaviour would endanger the safety of those on board, including visible intoxication or a refusal to follow basic safety instructions given before departure.

The captain's authority

The captain is in command of the vessel at all times and is responsible for the safety of everyone on board. This includes decisions on whether to sail, where to anchor or moor, when to return to port, and how to respond to changing weather, sea conditions or any on-board incident.

Guests are expected to follow the captain's and crew's instructions without exception. A guest who repeatedly disregards safety instructions may be put ashore at the nearest suitable point, at the captain's discretion, without any refund for the time lost.

Itinerary changes

The itinerary discussed at booking — anchorages, routes, timings — is a plan, not a guarantee. The captain may adjust it at any point for reasons of safety, weather, sea conditions, port restrictions or the practical realities of the day, including swapping an open-water anchorage for a sheltered one near Saint-Tropez or Port Grimaud.

We will always try to keep the spirit of the itinerary you asked for, but the captain's judgement on what is safe and practicable takes priority over the original plan.

Conduct on board

Guests are expected to behave reasonably and respect the vessel, the crew and other guests. Smoking, diving, swimming or any watersports activity are only permitted where and when the captain confirms it is safe to do so.

Any instruction given by the crew for safety or for the proper running of the charter must be followed. Charters involving minors require an accompanying adult to take responsibility for their safety at all times.

Damage and personal belongings

The client is responsible for damage caused to the vessel, its equipment or its tender by their own actions or by their guests during the charter, beyond normal wear and tear. Any damage should be reported to the crew as soon as it happens so it can be assessed and, where relevant, included in the written record of the day.

Personal belongings brought on board remain the responsibility of their owner throughout the charter. We recommend keeping valuables with you or in a secure place indicated by the crew, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost, left behind or damaged on board.

Liability limits

We organise the charter and work with experienced captains and crews, but we cannot be held liable for delays, changes or cancellations caused by weather, sea conditions, technical issues beyond reasonable control, or decisions taken by the captain in the interest of safety.

Our liability, where it arises, is limited to the charter fee actually paid for the affected booking. We are not liable for indirect losses such as missed connecting travel, accommodation booked separately, or other arrangements made around the charter date.

Complaints

If something about your charter did not go as expected, please tell the crew at the time if it can be addressed on the day, and follow up in writing to [email protected] as soon as possible afterwards so we have a clear account while details are fresh. We will look into the matter and respond directly.

Website use, governing law and updates to these terms

The content of yachtchartersttropez.com — descriptions, photographs and pricing information for the yachts we present — is provided to help you choose a vessel and request a quote; it may not be copied or reused for another business without our agreement. Prices shown on the site are indicative starting rates; the figure in your written quote is the one that applies to your booking.

These terms, and any booking made under them, are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly between the parties falls under the jurisdiction of the French courts.

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect how we run our charters; the version published on yachtchartersttropez.com at the time you confirm a booking is the one that applies to that booking.
